Director of Operations & Young Trustee recognised for 'Outstanding Contribution to Society'

Raising Youth's Director of Operations, Callum Thomas, has been recognised by MidKent College for his work with the charity.

On 16th June 2022, Raising Youth's Director of Operations & Young Trustee, Callum Thomas, attended MidKent College Student Awards Ceremony after being nominated by his course tutors for his work with Raising Youth. Callum won the Luke Mumford Award for Outstanding Contribution to Society. His nomination followed an observation by the college whilst delivering Rapid COVID-19 Tests in December 2021.

Callum started with the charity back in 2019 as our Designated Safeguarding Lead, a role he holds today, and has risen up to become the Director of Operations. Callum dedicates a huge amount of time to the charity and has been vital to it's successes; including the provision of COVID-19 Tests to our staff and the local community, developing and launching our Skills for Life Programme and the day to day operation of the charity.

Peter Fleet, Chief Executive Officer said "I was really pleased to hear of the recognition imparted to our Director of Operations & Young Trustee, Callum Thomas. At the end of this academic term, MidKent College awarded him The Luke Mumford Award for outstanding contribution to society; for his work with Raising Youth and his wider volunteering work across Medway - Great job Callum!!"

Callum said "It is a huge privilege to have been nominated for the Luke Mumford award, I am delighted to have won it. When I started at the charity in 2019, I could never have imagined where I am today. I am incredibly proud of the work I have done with the charity and how far we have come, I cannot wait to see what we'll achieve in the future."
